Introductions
Hello everyone, my name is Jennifer and I would like to introduce you to our family. Kevin (my husband) and I have 5 kids Ruth born in 2000, Noah born in 2005, Malachi born in 2007, Lita born in 2014 and John born in 2017.
I’m originally from Maui, Hawaii and Kevin is from Saskatchewan, Canada. We met online through an iPhone game called Clash of Clans in 2013. I was living in Las Vegas, NV at the time and he was living in Watson, Saskatchewan. We knew when we met that their was something special but, we never imagined it would bring us to where we are today.
Our life in a nutshell, I moved from Las Vegas to Montana to live closer to Canada, while Kevin worked a camp job in Saskatchewan for 2 weeks then drove 12 hours to be with us for 5 days. We did that for a year then the kids and I moved to Ituna, SK lived there for about a year and a half. At that point Kevin got a Monday thru Friday job so we relocated to Maidstone, SK, this wasn’t the best fit for our family, but we made it work for almost 2 years. During, this entire time we ran our Furnace and Duct Cleaning business. Then Kevin got recruited for a job in Hinton, AB we excitedly took this move and opportunity to expand our business and relocate for his work.
After, we were in Hinton for about a year we got hit with the Covid-19 Pandemic and it seemed our vision for life shifted. Up to this point, Kevin worked for the town and we worked long hours on our business, and our kids were going to school. It was starting to become the rat race. As many have experienced with this pandemic, it forced us to slow down a little. We decided to homeschool our kids and make family our number one priority. But what does that mean? What did we want in life? How was it going to happen?
Kevin has this idea we should get a camper and live in it for a year. We put renters in our house and got loaded up in a camper and hit the road. This blog will be our journey Free And On the Road. As I type this we are about 1 month into our journey. We hope you enjoy our post and have fun learning about our family. We are very excited to spend time together and make family our number one priority.
