February 16th • Our 7th Anniversary

This post will wrap up our anniversary trip to Nashville, then I’ll get back to writing past blogs until I get caught up. To think we have been married for 7 years is crazy its been the fastest and best years of my life. This trip was a lot of fun and a great way to celebrate our anniversary together and as I write this post today I’m so blessed to have Kevin by my side, I couldn’t imagine this journey that we call life without such an amazing partner. We had a lot of time on this trip to sit and talk and reminisce about our lives and how blessed we are that we found each other. The chances that we met were really one in a million. How many people do you know that met in Clash of Clans, lived in different countries fought all the obstacles of that, and are together?

Our morning started with me heading to the gym and then bringing coffee back to the room and having a nice quiet coffee date. Then we headed out for breakfast at Midtown Cafe for a nice meal. After that, we decided we would walk a few blocks to RCA Studio B but when we got there found out you need to go to The Country Music Hall of Fame which was a 2.5km walk away. Of course the one day we decide to walk all around downtown Nashville I wore my boots with heels. We decided we would just walk down to the Ryman Auditorium since we really wanted to do that tour before we left Nashville. Good thing we had a big breakfast because it was a 2.6km walk to Ryman’s.

We made it to Ryman Auditorium in about 10 mins and headed in for a self-guided tour. They do backstage tours as well but since there was a concert there that night we weren’t able to do that this time. We both were dying of thirst so went to the gift shop to purchase two bottles of water for $10 each! Once we got over the shock of the water we headed into the pre-tour video at the Ryman. It was actually really neat hearing the history of the Ryman and how it all started. We then went through the Ryman we sat through a bluegrass history speech and then walked through the auditorium for history. To be totally honest we had done so many tours that we both felt like we were on information overload and couldn’t stand to read everything. We both really love tours, museums, and the history we learn but, the brain can only absorb so much in such a short period of time.

There were a million more things we wanted to do but, we both were starting to feel tired and we thought it would be an early night. I told Kevin I wouldn’t be able to go on much longer without a caffeine burst so we found Elixr Coffee where I got a quad shot cappuccino, and it was amazing! Within 10 minutes I got some energy back so we decided to walk downtown and find a place to get some food. We walked into a few bars and didn’t really find anything that seemed good. Then we saw Kid Rock’s Big Honky Tonk & Steakhouse and both figured steak sounded good. Well, the steak didn’t really seem like what they specialized in so we ordered a couple of drinks and nachos. That was the beginning of a very long night….

This was the first time since being in a Nashville bar that we had such a good server, she was at our table before we ever needed anything. The atmosphere was fun, the beer good and the food wasn’t that bad either. We ended up staying and making some requests and I got Kevin to dance with me. After a few hours, we went for a tour of downtown Nashville to find a few bars and Kevin even got a band to sing “our song”. None of the bars had the same feeling that Kid Rock’s bar did so we headed back there to end off the evening.

We had planned to stay for just a little bit but met some new friends from Columbia and had a good time laughing and dancing together. Although they didn’t speak much English and we didn’t speak Spanish it was some of the most fun we had. We actually shut the bar down and got kicked out around 3:30 am and decided we should go get some sleep since we had to leave early the next morning. We definitely lived every moment we could in Nashville and we will be back for sure!

Happy Anniversary Baby! This post is for you, well all of them really are but, I want you to know I love you more than anything and can’t imagine my life without you. I know I tell you all the time you are the best but you really are the best person in my life. You’re not only sexy but smart, funny and so much fun to be with. This journey we call life was meant to be together and we have been able to make our dreams come true. It will only get better from here. Thank you for being my life partner and taking such good care of me and making me feel sexy and smart. LOVE YOU!
