May 2nd, 2021 – Shingle Springs, CA
We had planned to leave our campsite in Lodi, CA at Flag City RV Resort tomorrow, but plans are never set in stone with our family. My husband has the need to buy tractors. John thinks its the best thing ever, when he gets to pick them up and help drive them.
We picked this up in Shingles Springs, CA this afternoon. It wasn’t the simple pick up and go with the tractor type of deal. Kevin found this tractor for sale like a boss. He had asked the lady if she would sell for a lower price, however, she said no. But of course Kevin had asked if we could see it anyway, and she agreed. We loaded the kids up this morning at 9:00am, grabbed a quick breakfast and then hit the road. The drive was 110km there, so about 1 hour, which really is pretty good for finding a deal for us. We looked over the tractor and decided we could only spend a certain amount of money and the seller felt she could get more and had others coming to look at it.
We decided that meant we would head back to our campsite and get packed up to hit the road again. Kevin felt he should message her one more time to make sure she actually sold it. To our great surprise she didn’t have a sell yet and agreed if we came out she would sell it to us. At this point we drove back to our campsite already. We then gave the kids an option if they wanted to come with us. They all wanted to stay but John had a meltdown, for we had planned on getting the tractor without him. Who knew getting a tractor could be so fun? Obviously we had to bring John along, at that point Kevin, John and I headed back to get the tractor.
That meant we had to get to Uhaul dealer which was an hour away before 4:00pm, when they closed. We made it and we picked up the trailer at 3:43pm, and headed back to the sellers house to get our tractor. Only problem was we have to return the trailer to the UHaul dealer we picked it up from. That means we will be driving a total of 660km by the time this purchase is all said and done.
So we go to load the tractor, low and behold, it won’t fit with the mow deck. Kevin and the seller figured out how to remove the deck, so we get it all loaded up in the trailer. We took the back roads to get back to camp, picked up the rest of the family then went to get it washed up and ready to sell. Kevin will be posting it this week to get it sold and we will see if it was worth all the trouble to get this tractor. It does look clean and ready to go now.
