Cedar Cove Too RV Park Review
We spent a little over a month at the Cedar Cove Too RV Park, New Mexico. I’m writing this review thinking about advantages and disadvantages to this park. This is a sister RV Park to the original Cedar Cover RV Park. Kevin orginally found this RV park as it was cheap $275 a month plus electric. We had planned to stay at the orginal Cedar Cove but, by the time we made our reservations it was completley booked. They told us they had a sister site and it had overflow for the orignal but, since it is a new construction doesn’t have all the ammenities. When we called they made it seem like the parks were right next to each other we figured it wouldn’t be too bad to have to travel a little ways for the ammenities.
Cedar Cove Too has 2 showers and 2 restrooms, there are 41 sites and they are all oversized. I would say if you were just coming to Elephant Butte for the lake for the weekend this would be a perfect spot to just have a setup to sleep at. It’s not a real “camping” experience. One thing we have learned while being on the road there are RV resorts and camp sites. RV resorts tend to always have full hookups and the basic ammenties you need to live vs a campsite would have more of an outdoors feel and a better place for campfires, etc. If we were just camping this wouldn’t be my first choice for sites but, for living at it has all the basic needs met.
One of the biggest selling points for us was the huge RV site. We need space for our 5th wheel, truck, trailer and a place for the kids to play. The price point was another thing that made this a great place, although at the end of the month our electric bill was right around $200 since it was so hot and AC had to run 24hrs. I would say for a winter location if you were wanting to live in your camper this would be a great place. During the summer months it does get very hot and you have to prepapre for that. These sites do not have any shade or covering for your camper and the desert sun is relentless. Since we did get such a large space we could setup up a pool which helped us fight the sumer heat. It will be summer memories we will always talk aout the one time dad went to walmart and bought a pool so we could combate the heat.
Living on the road there are somethings we have learned, one being that we would like to have a laundry facility at the location we are at. I mean eventailly we will most likely just get a washer and dryer in our camper and this wont be a problem. I would say it wasn’t terriable being at this RV resort, the bathroms were always cleaned and it was quiet. They also expected everyone to keep thier campste clean which is nice to be staying somewhere that is clean and people don’t have junk everywhere. From where our RV site was to the restroom was a little walk down the hill. The kids loved walking down the hill to shower every evening. We showered most nights in the shower house here as they did a really good job keeping it clean.
With all this being said I’ll give you a quick breakdown of our pros and cons for this RV resort.
Pros: Great Rate, Clean Facilities, Large Sites, Full Hookups, Outside of Town, Great Managment, Only Newer Campers, Clean Sites
Cons: No Pool, Limited Facilities, Gravel pads, No Shade, Showers did have best curtains and tended to flood the floors
Monthly Rate at the time of our stay $275.00
